With the final months of a custom cruise ship build on the horizon, an influx of carpenters and interior finishers coming to the remote Norwegian shipyard, accommodation and catering for the workforce was required on short notice. The Bluefort was mobilized in 15 days and provided accommodations, hotel services and catering to 250 workers for the duration of the contract.
The MV Bluefort arrived in the small Norwegian town of Tomrefjord on New Years Eve and had opened her doors to welcome more than 150 Residents within days. Working together with the client, the service and amenities onboard were custom tailored to suit the needs of those living onboard. From providing tri-lingual signage in the three main languages of Residents, to custom laundry service and meal times to suit the unique requirements of the day-to-day schedule of the shipyard.
The onboard team worked diligently to be reactive to the evolving requests and arrival schedule of the client, always ensuring that the Bridgemans level of service and standards remained consistent, and that each resident was made to feel welcome and at home. Additional challenges were the cost of doing business in the remote reaches of Norway, while maintaining an aggressive budget and a deliverable level that suited the expectations of the residents.
